1. Overview

At Farewell Flower Hire, we provide a fully managed hire service for artificial funeral flowers. This includes delivery of the arrangements directly to the funeral directors and collection after the service, ensuring a smooth and stress-free experience for families during a difficult time.

This policy explains how delivery, collection, returns, and cancellations work when hiring our floral tributes.


2. Delivery Information

2.1 Delivery Location

All hired floral arrangements are delivered directly to the funeral directors, crematorium, or agreed venue handling the service.
The customer does not need to be present.

2.2 Required Delivery Details

To ensure successful delivery, customers must provide:

  • Name of the funeral director or venue
  • Full address and postcode
  • Funeral date and time
  • Name of the person the service is for
  • Any specific instructions from the funeral director (optional)

2.3 Delivery Schedule

Deliveries are arranged in coordination with the funeral directors to ensure the flowers arrive:

  • On the morning of the funeral, or
  • At a time specified by the funeral home

We always aim to deliver the arrangements on the day of the service, unless otherwise requested.

2.4 Delivery Area

We currently deliver within the areas listed on our website. If a location is outside our standard service area, additional delivery charges may apply.


3. Usage Restrictions

To ensure the integrity of the hire arrangements and to comply with our service terms:

  • Arrangements must not be removed by anyone other than the funeral directors.
  • Arrangements are hired only for the chapel of rest, the service journey, and the crematorium service.
  • Arrangements will not be used or available for the duration of the wake unless a floral photo frame and easel have been specifically hired for that purpose.

This ensures all arrangements are returned in proper condition and available for collection.


4. Collection & Returns (After the Funeral)

4.1 Professional Collection Service

All hired arrangements are collected by us after the funeral from the funeral directors or venue.
Families do not need to return anything themselves.

4.2 Collection Timing

Collection typically takes place:

  • The same day after the service, or
  • Later the same afternoon, or
  • The next working day depending on funeral director preferences

We liaise directly with the funeral home to arrange a suitable collection time.

4.3 Condition of Hired Items

We expect hired items to be returned in a reasonable condition.
Minor wear caused during normal use is accepted.

Charges may apply for:

  • Significant damage
  • Loss of items
  • Items that are not available for collection due to customer arrangements

5. Cancellations & Refunds

5.1 Customer Cancellations

Customers may cancel their order under the following terms:

  • More than 48 hours before delivery: Full refund
  • 24–48 hours before delivery: 50% refund
  • Less than 24 hours before delivery: No refund

This is due to pre-booked delivery time slots and preparation of the floral arrangements.

5.2 Cancellations Due to Funeral Director or Venue Changes

If the funeral director changes the service time or location, we will attempt to accommodate the new arrangements.
If delivery becomes impossible due to circumstances beyond our control, we will offer:

  • A partial refund, or
  • Transfer to an alternative arrangement or date

6. Failed Delivery or Collection

6.1 Failed Delivery

Delivery may fail if:

  • Incorrect details are provided
  • The funeral director or venue refuses the delivery
  • Access is restricted at the time of arrival

If delivery cannot be completed due to customer-provided incorrect information, a redelivery fee may apply.

6.2 Failed Collection

If an arrangement is removed or taken to a different location other than the funeral directors or pre-approved venue, we may charge:

  • Additional collection fees, or
  • Replacement fees if the items cannot be retrieved

We always try to resolve issues reasonably and fairly.


7. Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate delivery details
  • Informing us of any changes to funeral time/location
  • Ensuring arrangements are not removed by anyone other than the funeral directors
  • Understanding that arrangements are only for the chapel of rest, service journey, and crematorium service, unless a separate hire has been made for the wake
  • Gaining permission from the funeral director where required
